On Thursday night I attended Taste of the Nation Atlanta, a fundraiser for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. The event featured bites and cocktails from what seemed like the majority of the restaurants in Atlanta as well as spectacularly impressive silent and live auctions. This picture doesn’t do it justice, but literally the entire ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium was filled with booths from all of the restaurants around town. It was really incredible to see so many talented chefs, restauranteurs and mixologists/bartenders in one spot. What’s more ~ 100% of the ticket sales support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger. The event is held in many other cities across the United States ~ so there might be one near you soon!
As a relatively new Atlantan, this was a really cool way for me to see what is going on culinarily, especially in areas of the city that we don’t get to visit much. The event is also black-tie optional, so its a fun excuse to get dressed up and wear that dress that you bought for that wedding that you’ve only worn one time 🙂 And most importantly, it is for a good cause. I’ve included more of my pictures below my weekly favorite links. I wish I had noted the descriptions of these dishes, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch many of them. I hope you enjoy nonetheless and are maybe tempted to attend the event here next year or in your city.
