Emmy Hits (and Misses)

I love a good red carpet.

Allison Williams Emmys 2013

I think my absolute favorite may have been Allison Williams. She killed it in Ralph Lauren.

KateMara Emmys2013

Kate Mara looked amazing in J. Mendel.  I’m not sure what kind of bra you wear with this dress – that could get tricky.

Michelle Dockery

I wonder if Michelle Dockery is as fiesty in person as she is on Downton Abbey. Here she is in Prada.  The halter cut was so different – very cool.

Claire Danes Emmys 2013

This Armani Prive dress isn’t the most flattering on Claire but I still think she looked gorgeous. I think it draws attention to the wrong places. I love Homeland though so I was happy to see her win. And I’m digging the bob haircut.

My not so favorites:

Lena Dunham Emmys 2013I really like Girls and Lena Dunham so I feel terrible saying this, but the volume in this Prada dress is no good for Lena.  I also really dislike the pattern – it looks too old southern grandmothery for me.  Maybe I’m just not sophisticated enough to get it.

JanuaryJonesEmmys2013I usually love January Jones, but the pale pink color of this Givenchy gown kind of blends into her skin.  Not my fav.  I like her better in bolder colors.

Heidi Klum Emmys 2013Doesn’t Heidi Klum look like she can’t breathe in this Atelier Versace gown?  The neck thing is wierd.

Amanda Peet Emmys 2013I do not get this trend.  It needs to go away.  (oh btw, Amanda Peet is in Erdem)

JulieBowen Emmys2013Yikes Yikes Yikes.  Too much ruffle.  I love Julie Bowen though (in Zac Posen)

Let’s finish on a high note.

Robin Wright Emmys 2013Love Robin Wright in this Ralph Lauren gown.  She has so much confidence ~ she always looks great on House of Cards.
