When I took a moment to stop and look around my neighborhood last week, I noticed something really cool. American Flags. Lots of them. Proudly and prominently displayed outside my neighbors’ homes. I was so moved by this display of USA pride.
We often take for granted the fact that we live in a country that protects our freedom. It is so easy to get caught up in the madness of the day to day ~ to get annoyed, for example, that we are stuck in crazy traffic or that our e-mail isn’t working the way that it should. While I was surrounded by American flags, I remembered that I am so thankful that I don’t have to live in fear that I will be arrested just because I am Jewish. I can be who I am, I can write what I want to write, I can say what I want to say, I can live the life that my ancestors were not able to live. And for that, I am proud to be an American.
There are more patriotic pictures below, but on a lighter and more delicious note, here are some lovely links that I have been admiring recently. Happy Monday to you all!!
